Close to the finish

I have almost finished my Octopus Treasury Cave. It is very difficult to make a good photo, the real colors are deep blue with some darker/lighter parts. It was hand dyed by Barbaral for me, and it turned out exactly as I imagined. Closest to real life is the first picture I posted, but the corals and the animals are much brighter and colorful in reality. I am not the best to play around with the photos, and lack the endurance to finish it properly. For the final one I will ask the in-house-know-to-all (aka my husband) and you will see it in full glory. Only the last shell is missing and the treasures - beads and crystals! I want to finish it during the 100 day Chatelaine challenge - there is still 15 days to go, so it is easy-peasy...

Octopus growing

I was stitching away with the 100 day challange, and moving along nicely. I was missing a few, but still I made quite a good progress

Octopus swimming back

After finishing Winter Watergarden I decided to work a little on Octopus. The blackwork part goes extremely slowly, this was the main reason I changed it to WW. Moreover, I ordered only 1 skein of Petite Princess Perle for the outline of the waves. After ordering the missing 2 I still did not received them - unfortunately I got 2 Wood Pond GL0049 instead Monet 's Pond GL0079...both the name and number are similar, it was an unfortunate coincidence. And since it is perle, it is not a trivial thing to have in stock, so I could not get  a quick substitution. When I have used all the existing skein, there was only  a little part missing, and I decided to try the wood pond perle. And the outcome is quite convincing (top part of the outlining) so I am happily moving further.

Winter Watergarden - a finish!

I have finished Winter Watergarden today, all sparklies added. Hoever since it is a winter scene many of the beads are clear, so no major change. But it is still beautiful! This is teh 39th day of the 100 days cahllenge to stitch something each day. I did not manage to do it on all days, but still a finish after 2 years in less than 40 days is something I am proud of.
I am contemplating what to take for tomorrow...

Day30 - Winter Watergarden (almost) finished

This is the 30th day of the 100 day challenge, and I am extremely satified with my progress: I have finsihed the stitching on Winter Watergarden! Only the beads are missing - I would have never thought that it will be so quick! I have added the last part close-up, it was the medallion with the bare trees. It was a pleasure to stitch from the very first x. I have started in 2016 midMarch, so it took 2 years to do the center and 3 medallions and 1 month to finish up :) The last quarter is always the fastest, but still, it was so smooth that I can hardly believe my eyes. I am always up to a challenge, I see the motivation behind my speed.

Last birdie

Last birdie in Winter. I ahave just finished my last birdie for Winter Watergarden, and also added the cattails to the frozen lake. There is only the central medallion what left to be stitched, and of course beading is still under way. Out of the Cahtelaines I stitched, I think this was my favourite. There is no part I did not liked to stitch, and it is a pity that it is almost done. However, other nice design are impatiently waiting to be stitched, so I am not complaining - a little bit like a child grows and flies away...
