Ennyit jelent a kontúr / What a difference a backstitch makes!

I was really pressing myself and I have finished the november birdhouse of the late RR in three days. The owner is anxiously waiting for the piece to arrive, since it is 5 month late.  Moreover, it is sad that 2 months are still (and will be) missing. I am not one to blame, received it this week and I will post it on Monday.
By the way, this month is really good for my stitching, only the 9th and my HAED dragonling page is ready, RR is packed, so I am ready for Autumn Knotgarden. However, we visited my family for a few days and I still had not decided between 28ct and 32ct for the fabric, so I took Nativity with me. That is my project for tomorrow.

Ha egy üzlet beindul / Definite overflow

Csak kapkodom a fejem mit tegyek! A múlt héten ugye belekezdtem a Nativity samplerbe, és most hirtelen mindennel egyszerre lepett meg a posta, minden késést most akar behozni.

MOST JÖN A HÍR!

I am in a big big distress, what shall I do! Maybe you remember that last week I started to stitch Nativity  from Victoria Sampler, and now suddenly the Post became a super turbo organisation and wants to fulfill all the promises on earth. From one side arrived a piece of late-late RR, the november of the birdhouse one (deadline January 15, 2010 haha). It is not a real problem, needs only a few days of my stitching time.

But the real news are: CHATELAINE KITS ARE IN MY POSSESSION! I cannot believe it! I ordered Spring and Frosty Knotgarden in mid April, Autumn Knotgarden in mid July and they fought themselves through the jungle of international mailing, and it took only 5 months. Spring and Frosty overcame the difficulties only for the second try, the first kits were taken by some UFOs (meaning aliens this time, not my UFOS). However I used the magic word Global Express and for an extra 20 bucks the post delivered everything in 10 days. So I am lost in the land of plenty, because I have a HAED going on as well...

So the plan is the following:
1) one page of HAED/month, the present one is almost ready, hopefully by tomorrow
2) finish quickly the birdhouse RR, make Anik, the owner, happy
3) start Autumn Knotgarden, with the beginning of September it is really in line with the season. The 2. part of the chart was published a few days ago, so I can catch up with the others
4) in case there are still more from September either continue the Nativity, or start Spring. I do not think I will have to make this decision this month...

kész egy kis dísz /Little ornie

I was still practicing Hardanger, and I choose a freebie from Victoria Sampler, the Crystal_Waters. The stitching part was not difficult, but I had some problems with the finishing.Corners are my biggest enemies!

Heirloom Nativity Sampler

A héten elkezdtem Victoria Sampler Heirloom Nativity Samplerét.

I have started Victoria Sampler's Heirloom Nativity Sampler. I became a little Cinderella, because the first step was the sorting of floss and beads. And it is not a joke, the 5 different type of beads arrived in one sack. After I cut the photocopy of my pattern sheet to smaller pieces and glued to one page the pattern, the colour code and the working instructions corresponding to each other. On the long run it makes much easier for me to do the stitching. And finally I have starte the actual work. I have manage to finish only a tiny piece, because the preparatory time was quite long, but it worth the effort. Photos coming later on...

Kész a párna! / Pillow is ready and in use!

Yesterday I finished the hardanger pillow and gave it to its happy new owner. It was a great success, Andris was running up and down with it, I could hardly take a photo of them!

I am ready with my first real Hardanger piece! From my clever book I have chosen 25 pattern out of the beginners' 30 and I practiced on them. The book was kind of too clever for me, so I had to find a good site (needleworktips) where I got some really detailed, step by step instructions, so I got over the first difficulties.

For not wasting precious stitching time it will be  finished as a little pillow for my son, Andris, because he values Hardanger most in our family. He grabbed it whenever he was able to, run around the room waving the cloth, laughing and showing it to anyone he could reach. He likes most that I used perle #5, so he can really put his little fingers into the floss and to the holes.
