Sapphire

I restarted my paper piecing design published by BetukbandiThis one is called Sapphire. I used the advised coloring to get a gemlike piece. It was a long time ago that I did paperpiecing, and it can be seen by the matchings -I am not fully happy, but the next one will be better...

I must remember not to tear the backing paper prior fully finishing (I did...), use 2 stitch length instead the general 2.5 (changed midtime) and use 80 sized needle (changed midtime). There was also a good lesson not to avoid fixing thread tension immediately, because it will backfire - a few parts were fixed manually because the upper thread was too loose and it came out.

Taking all this into consideration having a finished circle is not a bad achievement !

Block 4 - Sapphire Fire

Size is a circle in a 15"x15" square, so taking into consideration the small pieces, the material usage is 20"x15", which is cc 20cm of a fabric.

Another I-spy for a colleague's baby shower - late posting from 2019

Last year I forgot to publish a last minute present: one of my colleagues was expecting a baby and I have made an I spy quilt for them. I used some 5"x5" squares, some of them from smaller scraps, and I was trying to put together something colorful. I added a flanel backing to keep it soft and warm, I hope they have a good use for this since! It used up cc1.5m fabric, mostly from old materials or scraps, so it does not count in my fabric usage.

Flourishing

I have some big blocks I am preparing for a quilt by betukbandi, and I was pushing them here and there, and I realised a large projectbag is what I need. I have checked a few ideas, and I come up with my own. I used some IKEA leftover fabric, and I really like the outcome. Perfect for all the solids used!

I have inserted some laminated sheets to make it more sturdy, and I am planning to add some plexy hobbyglass to make it even more stable.
For the inner side I used up some green fabric, and altogether it was 1.5m of fabric.

Having this added, I have used 7m fabric and 2m minky until today in 2020.

Blue Explosion

I offered my niece a lapquilt and she had chosen a few ideas, with a blue quilt among them. I went through my stash and came up with this Blue Explosion for her:

The size is 10x13 from 5" squares halved, so cc 1.5m fabric was used for the top, and 1m 1.5 wide minky as a backing. Addig it to the 4m mask fabric, I am 5.5m fabric usage and 2m minky as of today.
